Stoney Nakoda Resort

Stoney Nakoda Resort is a First Nations casino located in Morley, approx. 60 km west of Calgary and 50 km east of Banff and first opened its door in June of 2008. Managed by the Stagewest production company, it is one of Alberta’s newest casinos. Scenically stunning, the casino boasts the majestic Canadian Rockies as its backdrop. Outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy nearby Nakiska Ski Area, home of the 88 winter Olympics with its 1024 acres of land. Participate in snowboarding, downhill and cross country skiing.

Gaming

The casino currently offers 299 slot machines, both video and classic, with slots tournaments every Tuesday at 6:30 pm for prizes. Entry is free but you must be a Loyalty Express member to play. Their 14 table games include Ultimate Texas Hold’em, blackjack, mini baccarat and 3 card poker. Poker tournaments run every Thursday beginning at 7 pm and there are weekly Saturday poker tournaments with a $30 buy-in.

Dining

Sidelines Lounge offers a full service menu and a broad selection of beer. Check out a Pay-Per-View sporting event over dinner. Highlights are Monday steaks, Wednesday wild wings and Sunday 12 oz rib-eyes. Interested in more bang for your buck? Ridge Buffet is open Thursday to Sunday with its hot and cold spread including salads, desserts and a carvery. Skyy {sic} Lounge provides recreation by way of pool tables, tvs and a golf simulator. Play with friends or banter with locals. Ski buffs and bunnies can visit nearby Nakiska Ski Area with Mount Allan and its 28 trails for snowboarding, cross country and downhill skiing.
