Casino Argeles Gazost

Argeles-Gazost is a French commune located in the department of Haute-Pyrenees and is a sub-prefecture in the region of Midi-Pyrenees. Locals are called Argelesiens. This is a great little area, especially if you’re fond of the outdoors. Enjoy something as simple as nature walks or hiking, or the more adventurous activities like skiing and high mountain climbing. Over in the Chloro Fil Adventure Park, you can scale among the trees. Courses range from beginner to expert and even cater to children. Over in Wild Waves, there’s water activities like kayaking, canoeing and rafting. Local scenery includes mountains, forests, lakes and parks. If you’re interested in fauna like otters, marmot and mountain goats, try the Pyrenees Animal Park. There’s also several shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, churches, thermal spas, and of course, the casino.

Gaming

The casino offers 49 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals coming in various denominations, starting as low as on cent and going up to 1 EUR. Table games consist of one blackjack table, opening at 9 pm, and closing at 1 am (3 am on weekends). The casino has rather modest offerings, with under 50 slots and just one table game. However, with so many other activities made available in town, the casino is merely one more place to stop and enjoy. The downtime indoors might be all you’re really craving after action-packed days.

Hotel/Accommodations

Stay at the Hotel Les Fleurs. This small yet quaint hotel offers 9 rooms which can accommodate 2 to 4 people and come equipped with tv and wireless internet access. Ask for a room with a balcony, which overlooks the valley and mountains. All rooms are non-smoking and please note, the hotel does not provide for disabled-access. Continental and sports (read: hearty) breakfasts are available as are lunches in their summer-only restaurant.

Dining

Dine in Le Garden Park, with its 30 seats indoors, and an additional 90 on the terrace. Cuisine is traditional and guests can dine while overlooking the park. Other venues include Les Climes, Soleil Levant and Le Casaou, located in the Miramount Hotel. Back at Hotel Les Fleurs, don’t forget their continental and sports breakfasts and lunches during summers.

Find your favourite cocktails in Bar le Privilege. Sip drinks indoors or out on the terrace. Look for live concerts and karaoke. This venue also serves light eats like waffles and sandwiches. Other venues include Café le Centre and Café Les Fleurs. In town participate in any number of outdoor activities. Land activities include hiking, mountain climbing and skiing. Water activities include kayaking, rafting and canoeing. Try the themed parks Chloro Fil and Adventure Park. Pamper yourself in the local spa, or in any of 8 nearby. There’s more than 100 hot springs in total. Receive massages, hydro-massages or soak in thermal waters. Various attractions include Tower Vieuzac, the Pyrenees Animal Park, Ourout Castle (built in the 15th century), and the Saint-Saturnin Church, dating back to the latter half of the 19th century.
