Cannes is a city in the French Riviera. Chances are you’ve heard of it – it’s home to the annual Cannes Film Festival and the perhaps lesser known, Cannes Lion International Advertising Festival. Tourists and celebrities come in droves for the festivals, hotels, restaurants and luxury shops. Head to Promenade de la Croisette, with its palm trees, beaches, cafes, boutiques and restaurants. Stroll along the shore, enjoy drinks and dinner, and maybe even catch the odd celebrity nearby. For a bit of local history, try the Musee d’Art et d’Histoire de Provence, set in an 18th century mansion. Other museums include the Musee de la Castre, Musee de la Marine, the Musee de la Mer, the Musee dela Photographie and the Musee International de la Parfumerie. Once you've finished sight-seeing and people-watching, head on into the casino.

Gaming

The casino offers 75 of the latest generation classic and video slot machines, ranging in denominations and starting as low as one cent. Table games include Texas Hold’em and Omaha poker, blackjack and English roulette. Smokers will appreciate their smoking games room and its direct terrace access. Private rooms are also available upon request. Casino hours are from noon to 4 am and the gaming floor encompasses 6000 square metres of space. Don’t forget their dinner dances and teas, with its live music.

Hotel/Accommodations

Stay at the 3.14 Hotel, where each floor of the hotel represents 5 different continents (Americas, Africa, Oceania, Europe and Asia). The hotel is located 50 m from the La Croisette and 300 m from the Palais des Festivals. Guests can enjoy the swimming pool with its view of the city and Suquet Hill. Be sure to ask staff about all the attractions in the city worth visiting, trendy bars and popular restaurants.

Dining

Being a tourist mecca, there’s plenty of restaurants throughout the city. In the casino there’s the 1929 Restaurant, with a seasonal snack menu from noon to 5 pm and dinners each evening from 8 pm. Head to the terrace for various games beginning at 8. Reservations are required. For private parties, talk to staff and book your future event. The restaurant is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 8 pm until 11 pm for dinners. Try along the Promenade, where you find a wide selection of restaurants serving international and authentic French cuisine.

Attractions/NightLife

The 3.14 Bar is open daily after 7 pm, serving all your favourite cocktails, with weekly musical events, concerts, DJs and themed parties. Look for Tea Dances every Wednesday from 2 pm until 4 pm. Entry fee includes 1 drink and 1 pastry. Local clubs include The Mystic and Rock Star. Depending when you travel, look for the Cannes Film Festival (le Festival international du film de Cannes), dating back to 1949, or the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Areas of interest include the Ile Saint-Honorat (St Honorat Island), whose monks have inhabited it since AD410, Ile Sainte-Marguerite (St Maguerite Island), the waterfront at the Promenade de la Croisette with its bars and restaurants, and the various museums that can be found around the city.

Rewards/Deals

The casino uses the Players Plus programme. Sign up for and receive your membership so you can collect points once you begin play. Exclusive offers include invites to contests and promotions and receiving select discounts. Ask staff for details.
