Sete is a French commune in the department of Herault and the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. Locals are called simply Sete. The population, including the surrounding metro area, is just shy of 90,000 people. The area has seen several name changes from Montmorencette, to the shorter Cetia, De Ceta and Seta. Both a fishing port and tourist resort, the city is hugged by the Mediterranean and the Etang de Thau. Highlights of the area include the Lighthouse of Mont-Saint-Clair, the Notre Dame de la Salette chapel and the Moliere Theatre. For history and culture, try the Espace Georges Brassens, the Paul Valery Museum, the International Museum of Arts and the Regional Centre for Contemporary Art.

Gaming

The casino offers a fleet of 75 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals ranging in denominations starting as low as one cent and as high as 1 EUR. Their 2 table games consist of 1 blackjack and 1 English roulette, running from the hours of 8 pm until 2 am, and 3 am on weekends. The casino has both a bar and restaurant on site. Look for themed nights and live entertainment.

Hotel/Accommodations

Stay at the Golden Sands Hotel, a 2-star hotel located near the sea, local creeks, the beach and the Theatre of the Sea. The hotel offers 30 comfortable rooms, some of which are equipped with wireless internet access, and 22” televisions. Enjoy breakfasts on the terrace or out on the balcony of your room as you take in the view. Both the beach and car park are approximately 100 m from the hotel. Please note, pets are not allowed.

Dining

Dine in the casino restaurant enjoying such menu items as monkfish, stuffed mussels, squid and fish soup. Other venues include Café de Paris, serving traditional cuisine, or for modern cuisine try Quai 17, Paris Mediterranee, and La Coquerie, with the Mediterranean serving as the back-drop. Tour the city choosing your own favourite venues, opting for casual eating or fine dining. Ask hotel or casino staff for suggestions on places most popular with tourists or locals.

Attractions/NightLife

Find your favourite cocktails in the casino bar Bar des Jeux or try one of the local watering-holes like Bar le Saint-Ciair, Le Bistrot du Marche, Le Port d’Attache, Bar Alexandre or La Ola. Local festivals include the Feast of St Louis, held in August. Watch the Grand Prix of St Louis, a (water) jousting tournament held in August, along the Royal Canal. The tournament has run since 1743, while jousting itself in the area dates back to 1666 when the port first opened. Explore local culture and history by visiting the Regional Centre for Contemporary Art, the International Museum of Arts, the Paul Valery Museum and the Espace Georges Brassens. Other attractions include the Lighthouse of Mont-Saint-Clair, the Theatre of the Sea (Fort Saint-Pierre), Moliere Theatre, and the Saint-Louis Church, consecrated in 1703.

Rewards/Deals

The casino does not have a player rewards system in place. Be sure to ask a casino representative about any current or upcoming contests and promotions as well as about live entertainment held within the casino.
