On the Gulf of Gonave you can find the Caribbean country Haiti, and its capital and largest city Port-au-Prince. The city has slightly less than a million people, or 3.7 million if you include the surrounding metropolitan area. There are a few things to do here, aside from the casino, and travellers can expect to find enough attractions to keep them occupied. Highlights include the National Palace, the Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral and the Iron Market. Take the opportunity to find some cool little eateries to sample authentic Creole cuisine.

gaming

The casino offers a varied selection of classic and video slot machines as well as table games which include the likes of poker, baccarat and roulette. After wandering about this large city, head into the casino, located on the hotel grounds, for a bit of light gambling and get your bearings for the next leg of your trip. A good run in cards, or perhaps even a sweet little slots jackpot, could help ease the ding to your wallet after all the time spent out in the markets, and evenings out drinking and dancing.

Hotel/Accommodations

The hotel offers 97 rooms which come equipped with air conditioning and flat screen cable televisions, king sized bed or 2 twins. Facilities and services include a business centre with internet access, an outdoor swimming pool, and room service until 10 pm. Guests can use their 24 hour airport transfer and taxi service. Besides the casino, you can find a bar and restaurant open from 6:30 am until 11 pm. Look for their Creole buffets every Wednesday.

Dining

There’s a couple options at the hotel. Room service runs until 10 pm or you can dine in La Terrasse from 6:30 am until 11 pm. Guests should keep an eye out for their Creole buffets every Wednesday. For Italian cuisine head over to Flor di Latte with menu items like pizza and pasta. Epi D’or serves classic and local items likes burgers, crepes, sandwiches and pizzas ideal for lunch. When you want Creole cuisine, there’s Papaye with Asian and European inspired fusion.

Attractions/NightLife

Head to the open-air club Djambala, also with live music or Latin music courtesy of the orchestra over at XTreme. You can also hang at the La Terrasse Bar and Restaurant in the hotel. Sports enthusiasts may want to check out a soccer match over at the Sylvio Cator Stadium. For popular local attractions, try the National Palace. Sadly levelled during the earthquake, the site is still visited by locals and tourists. Near here, you can also find the Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, largest in Haiti. To travel through the history of the region there’s the Musee du Pantheon National Haitien. When looking to meet all your shopping needs such as picking up cool souvenirs to take back home, there’s the Iron Market (Marche de Fer). This hectic area with its busy stalls sells everything from trinkets and crafts to live animals.

Rewards/Deals

The casino does not currently have a player reward system in place. Be sure to ask a casino representative about any potential contests or promotions which they may be running.
