International Casino

Situated between the cities of Mombasa and Kampala, lies Nairobi, largest, most populous and capital city of Kenya. Sometimes referred to as the Green City in the Sun, Nairobi gets its name from the Maasai term ‘Enkare Nyrobi’ meaning ‘cold water’, as does the nearby river. Prominent geographical features of the region are the Ngong Hills as well as Mount Kenya (to the north) and Mount Kilimanjaro (to the south east) both visible from the city. Nearby are the main campus of the University of Nairobi and Kenton College. Several parks and gardens are in the area, the most famous being the Nairobi National Park, with its lions, giraffes and black rhinos, as well as several museums. Be sure to go on the safari walk.

Gaming

The International Casino has 100 gaming machines (slots and video poker) and 5 table games (1 blackjack and 4 roulette) across its 11,000 sq ft. gaming floor. Hour of operation are weekdays 9 pm until 3 am and weekends/holidays from 4 pm until 3:30 am. Please note that the casino does have an entrance fee. You can also find three restaurants on site. The casino has humble offerings, but a few good hands or one lucky spin could finance a great little safari trip or pay for an evening of dinner and drinks out.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. One block from the casino you can find the Sentrim Hotel Boulevard. The hotel has 70 rooms over 2 storeys, with 40 rooms in the Garden Wing and 30 in the Pool Wing. Rooms come equipped with satellite tv and private balcony. On site are a gift shop, restaurant and a bar. If you aren't eating on site, ask about other nearby venues as well as popular local attractions.

Dining

For American cuisine, there’s the Tree House Club and Restaurant. Happy hour runs Tuesdays to Fridays 5 pm until 8 pm. If you prefer Indian cuisine, there’s Benares and for local fare, try Wasanii. Trip around town yourself finding the best local restaurants or ask casino and hotel staff for recommendations on other popular eateries nearby.

Attractions/NightLife

For clubbing and drinks pop into Treehouse Club and Restaurant or choose a local bar more in line with your budget. During your afternoons, stroll through one of several parks or gardens like Uhuru Gardens or the Nairobi National Park, showcasing indigenous wildlife. There's over 400 species of birds alone! For museums, there’s the Nairobi National Museum, largest in the city, or the Karen Blixen Museum and the Nairobi Gallery. Spend the day ice skating in Solar Ice Rink, the largest of its kind in Africa. Play a round of golf at the Royal Golf Club Nairobi or at Golf Course and Ngumo Estates.
