Diani Reef Grand Hotel and Casino

Just 30 km south of Mombasa is the beach resort area Diani Beach. The beautiful coral reef beach runs about 10 km long and with its shallow waters it is ideal for swimming and snorkeling. There's additional water activities such as scuba diving, sailing and windsurfing for those inclined. For more wildlife land side, try the Shimba Hills National Reserve. If budget allows, book yourself a safari trip to find check out the different creatures indigenous to Kenya. For afternoon trips the area has shopping malls, restaurants and the nearby casino. If staying at the resort, there's also various scheduled activities.

Gaming

The casino is a bit light on the slots and video poker with only 15 machines in total, but if you’re interested in trying your luck at cards, there are an additional 7 table games. These include blackjack, 5 card stud, 7 card Texas Hold’em, pontoon and roulette. After a long day on safari or hanging out at the beach, a couple hours indoors on the gaming floor may make for the perfect bit of downtime.

Hotel/Accommodations

The hotel and resort have 143 suites broken down into three types. Standard, deluxe and jr suites are garden or sea facing and come equipped with air conditioning satellite tv and internet access. All rooms have bathroom Jacuzzis and verandah or terrace. There are also 2 pools on site and a private beach as well as a movie room, games room and tennis and squash area. Dining

For breakfast and dinner buffets there is the Coral Rock Café with its open-show kitchen and international cuisine. For the combined flavours of Japanese, Chinese and Indian cuisine there’s Sake Oriental Restaurant. If you’re keen on seafood try Fins Seafood and Grill, ideal for candlelit dinners on the beach. Head into town looking for eateries dishing up authentic Kenyan cuisine.

Attractions/NightLife

The resort runs various planned activities for its guests such as tribal dance routines, cabarets and live music from house bands and piano recitals. If you’re traveling with family ask about the Coco Jumbo kids’ club providing games and movies for the little ones. Hang poolside or at the outdoor Jacuzzi and enjoy exotic cocktails or head to the private beach taking part in various water sports or outdoor activities at the resort like tennis and squash. Head to one of the local beaches for additional swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and windsurfing. Make arrangements to take a safari or head to the nature reserve. Listen to live music while dancing at the resort’s nights club and bars Dunes and Sin. There’s also 360 Bar on the deck of the restaurant with a beautiful view of the resort. For a more relaxing environment, there’s Zebra Square Bar and Piano Lounge. Head into town checking out other restaurants or spend some time shopping for cool souvenirs.
