Located in the city of Boca del Rio, you can find Casino Live. Boca del Rio itself is in the state of Veracruz in the section known as Llanuras de Sotavento, and received the upgrade from village to city back in 1988. Shopping is plentiful in the city, with over 4000 registered trade businesses. Grab supplies and souvenirs in one of several malls like the Plaza Santa Ana, Plaza Mocambo, Plaza Americas, and the Plazaq Boca del Rio, or at any one the street markets. To learn about the history and culture of the city, try one of its two museums. If you prefer a nice, relaxing view of the environs, take a boat ride down the Jamapa River, soaking up the country-side and viewing indigenous flora and fauna. You can also pop over to Sacrificios Island, and try scuba diving and check out the marine life.

Gaming

The casino provides a selection of classic and video slot machines in various denominations. Try your hand at a progressive or jackpot slot. Maybe you’ll be able to afford that river boat tour after all. For those who need to satiate their bingo cravings, there’s electronic bingo. To bet on horse-racing and international sporting events, turn to their sportsbook.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. About 2 km from the hotel you can find the Jaragua Hotel. They offer 48 junior suites and 3 standard rooms, coming equipped with 2 double beds, cable television, air conditioning, and free wireless internet. Facilities include a wading pool, swimming pool and beautiful outdoor green areas. Be sure while staying here, to spend some time talking to staff to find all the information you can about nearby attractions, how to arrange tours and ways to go about renting vehicles.

Dining

When you’re looking to grab some breakfast, head over to the Gran Café de la Parroquia. Order the picados y gorditas con huevo – fried tortillas with scrambled eggs and salsa. If you feel like seafood, there’s Rio de la Plata, with fish dinners and seafood salads, or El Bayo, with delicious seafood cocktails. You can always wander around picking out your own favourite eateries or grab some quick eats at one of the road-side stalls or in the markets. For more restaurants, ask hotel and casino staff to point out the places most popular with locals and tourists.

Attractions/NightLife

Walk into a local watering hole and chat up the locals, or grab a beer over in Bar Tito’s. For live music and DJ-spun tunes, there’s Cocoo’s and Beers. For more dancing, try the clubs La Bartola or Classico del Disco Boutique, running into the wee hours. For retro music as you overlook the beach, there’s Moon Bar. Visit one of the local museums. There’s the Buque Canonero Guanajuato, a decommissioned ship converted into a naval museum, and the Agustin Lara House Museum (also called the La Casita Blanca, or the little white house), showcasing the works of poet Agustin Lara. Check out the Juan de Ulua Castle, open Tuesdays to Sundays, the last fortress of the Spanish Empire. Depending when you travel there’s some interesting events. If you’re in the city in May, there’s the Ylang Ylang Regional Expo. In June, there’s BocaFest. In July, it’s the Feast of Saint Ann. When you want to go shopping, hit one of the local malls such as the Plaza Americas, the Plaza Santa Ana, Plaza Mocambo or the Plaza Boca del Rio.
