The largest city and capital of the Mexican state of Sinaloa, Culiacan has a population of around 675,000, or about 860,000 if you include the surrounding metro area. The city is in a valley where the rivers Tamazula and Humaya meet in north western Mexico. There’s plenty to do in the city as well as some interesting areas just outside. About 30 minutes out there’s the Imala hot springs, dams and reservoirs as well as Altata Beach, with its restaurants and night life.

Gaming

Look for a selection of classic and video slot machines coming in various denominations. When you want to satiate that bingo craving try the electronic bingo terminals. If you prefer to wager on and root for your favourite horses and sports teams, there’s an on-site sportsbook. Regardless of which games you choose to play, head on indoors out from the hot Mexican sun when you need a nice afternoon of R and R. A sizeable win could go a long way toward taking care of those pesky bar and dinner tabs.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. As close as 0.1 km from the casino you can find the Fiesta Inn Culiacan Hotel. The hotel can be found at the Forum Plaza and faces the Tamazula River, providing stunning views. Several attractions are nearby such as the Science Centre, the Virgin of Guadalupe shrine and Botanical Garden. The airport is approximately 20 km away. Be sure to use your time wisely and maximize your Culiacan trip. Ask staff for information about all the attractions around, as well as the areas for the best dining experiences and night life.

Dining

There’s plenty of venues serving up authentic Mexican cuisine, be they small venues or familiar franchises. El Farallon (since 1961) focuses on seafood. Look for menu items like scallops, squid and octopus. La Mariposa Amarilla (the yellow butterfly) serves traditional Sinaloan fare. For Italian there’s Italliani’s. For Chinese try Huy Fong, or China-loa with its all-you-can-eat buffet. Local dishes worth trying include ‘chilorio’ (tortillas with pulled pork and spices), or ‘machaca’ (shredded, spiced meat).

Attractions/NightLife

When the sun goes down, head out for a bit of drinks and dancing in one of the nearby clubs. Try Penthouse Klub, O Lydia Discotheque, and Kuwa, the latter also with live music. During days, visit one of the local parks, like Las Riveras Park, the Ernesto Millan Escalante Park, or if you have kids, Splash Club. The Constitucion Civic Centre has a library, dancing fountains and a zoo, great for an afternoon out. For shopping, try Plaza La Campina or Plaza Fiesta. Sports fans may be interested in Estadio Angel Flores, home of the Los Tomateros de Culican, or the Estadio Banorte, home of the Los Dorados de Sinaloa. Other worthwhile attractions include the Botanical Garden, Centro de Ciencias de Sinaloa, the Regional History Museum, the Centro Cultural Genaro Estrada, the Templo de Nuestra Senora, and the Imala Hot Springs.

Rewards/Deals

The casino does not currently have a player rewards system in place. Ask staff about any possible contests or promotions which might be running during your stay.
