Marrakech, with its approximate 1 million people (including surrounding area) draws tourists keen on the local culture, romanced by the movies, and hunting for some deals when shopping. The city invites tourism heartily, and in 2012 alone, 19 new hotels were constructed. In the distance, check out the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, while locally stroll through one of the many gardens, visit mosques and swing by the palaces. Use your best haggling skills as you wind your way thought the markets picking up souvenirs for yourself and loved ones back home. When not hanging back at the hotel lounging by the pool, dining, drinking or dancing, hit the gaming floor of the casino to test your luck.

The casino has 100 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals and run in denominations as low as 0.10 Dhs up to 10 Dhs. There’s an additional 20 table games with the likes of Oasis, 3 card, Bonus Hold’em, blackjack and roulette, available daily from 9 pm until 6 am. Slots are available from 3 pm, or 2 pm on weekends and holidays. The casino runs various promotions like raffles and players can enjoy an afternoon buffet. High rollers or groups can request private tables.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are currently no hotels on site. Head over to the Semiramis Hotel with its 180 rooms coming equipped with air conditioning, internet access and satellite tv. Facilities include a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, 3 restaurants and bars/nightclubs. The hotel grounds are spread across 4 acres of gardens and palm trees and is a mere 10 minutes from the city square Jemaa el-Fna. Be sure to ask staff for tips on the best places to visit for eateries, attractions and directions to the markets.

Dining

Choose to dine back at the hotel or in the casino at the Grand Casino la Mamounia Restaurant. Late afternoons bring a free buffet for players or choose one the dinner packages including, drinks or slots coins. Fridays have a traditional Moroccan menu. Zip into town choosing a restaurant dishing up authentic Moroccan cuisine – ask casino or hotel staff for tips on venues popular with both locals and tourists.

Attractions/NightLife

Hang back at the hotel for drinks and dancing, or pamper yourself in the spa. Spend time relaxing poolside sunning and swimming or enjoying your favourite cocktails. There are several restaurants and bars throughout the city to fill your evenings. Head to the city square Jemma el-Fna (or Djemma el-Fna). Wander through the souks, haggling at market stalls and kiosks for cool souvenirs to bring home. Visit the mosques or other interesting architectural sites like Badi Palace or the Royal Palace. Stroll through the gardens of Menara, or click some pics of the Atlas Mountains seen in the distance. For history, check out the ramparts, built in the 12th century for city fortification, running almost 20 km long.

The casino does not currently have any player rewards systems in place. They do however, run occasional promotions like raffles so be sure to ask what contests or events are in place during your stay.
