Though having a rather modest population of just over 300,000, Ciudad del Este (City of the East) is the second largest city in Paraguay. Outdoor enthusiasts may well appreciate the surplus of ‘green areas’ throughout the city. Check out one of the national parks in order to soak up the natural beauty as well as taking in the local flora. Perhaps not as a popular destination as the capital of Asencion, it’s still a rather nice city to visit as far as scenery. Nightlife here is not a major element nor is tourism. After absorbing some of the beautiful outdoors, pop into the casino for a session of slots and cards while you plan the next leg of your Paraguay journey.

Order something new to try out the best of regional cuisine.

Attractions/NightLife

When looking for local watering holes, there’s several in and around the casino. Please note, this may not be the best time to wander off alone as there is a bit of an unseedy local element. Use common sense when going out at night. Accepting drinks from strangers might not be in your best interest. Travel in groups or stick to well lit areas. The city is not one of the more popular places for tourists and nightlife is a bit limited. During the days, check out some of the ‘green’ areas and national parks or hang poolside back at the hotel and unwind. For evenings, plan on hanging in or around the casino itself.
