While the beach in Sousse is certainly spectacular, it is but one of several things you can do while visiting this lively little town. The Museum Dar Essid, while small, is one of the oldest buildings in the medina, dating back to 928 AD. You can also check out the Sousse Archaeological Museum, with its Triumph of Bacchus. If you’re keen on checking out religious structures, try the Great Mosque built in 851 AD. If you’re looking for the tourists, head to Boujaffar Beach, with its bars, restaurants and hotels and ample sands and surf. Frankly, there's several bars, pubs and nightclubs about, so you shouldn't have much of a problem filling your evenings after days at the beaches.

The Grand Casino Kantaoui operates daily from 5 pm until 4 am, but in the summer and on holidays, opens earlier at 3 pm. There are 50 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals, plus an additional 10 table games consisting of blackjack, stud poker, punto banco and roulette. You can also find a bar on site. The casino might have a bit less than is hoped for the enthusiastic gambler, however, after long treks around the city and days on the beaches, a couple hours of light gaming indoors might be all you really need.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are currently no hotels on site, however, 2 km from the casino you can find the Seabel Alhambra Beach and Spa. The hotel is conveniently located between 2 airports – 45 km from the Enfidha Airport, and 27 km from the Monastir-Skanes Airport – and near several local attractions. There are 316 rooms equipped with air conditioning and terraces. Rooms are broken into 125 standards, 85 2-bedroom apartments and 106 superior. When it’s time to unwind, there’s a heated indoor pool, 2 outdoor pools and a children’s pool. Alternately, you can hang out at their private beach. If you enjoy golf, there’s a 36 hole course.

Dining

Diverse menu items like omelettes and pizza can be found in Caracas. If you prefer steaks look to the Saloon Steakhouse Grill & Disco Pub. For authentic Tunisian fare, there’s Albatross. Head into the more touristy areas for more restaurant selections, or look for other eateries in the area also dishing up authentic African cuisine. It certainly doesn’t hurt to ask hotel and casino staff for tips on where the locals and tourists tend to frequent.

Attractions/NightLife

There’s actually several bars and nightclubs in the area, ranging from low to upscale, touristy, or local haunts – simply walk about finding the one most suited to your style. Some options include Saloon Disco, Banana, Edge Bar, B1 and Living. Choose the ones either most suitably located near your accommodations or attractions and restaurants you might be visiting. Head out to one of the public beaches like Boujaffar Beach, or the private beach back at the hotel when you feel like sunning and swimming or even one of the pools if you feel like enjoying cocktails as you catch your rays. Check out one of the local museums like the Sousse Archaeological Museum or the Museum Dar Essid. Head to the port to watch the fishing boats or for leisurely strolls or take in a round of golf to unwind.
