The lodge and casino offers views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and its name comes from the mountain range in Yosemite National Park. The hotel offers 103 rooms and a seasonal pool area. Amenities include business center, courtesy shuttle, pool table, coffee maker, laundry service, high speed internet and dogs are allowed up to a certain weight and dependent on breed. Rooms offer double queen sized beds with a maximum occupancy of 4, single kings with a maximum occupancy of 2 or suites with a maximum occupancy of 4 with smoking or non-smoking options. The general consensus on this place is that it’s not glamorous in any way. Don’t expect a luxurious experience and don’t be surprised if your room could use some sprucing up.

Dining

There isn’t a restaurant listed on the casino’s website but you can dine there in the El Capitan Restaurant. They serve a range of American classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If it’s fine dining that you seek, you’ll need to look elsewhere. In fact, you may want to stay out of the restaurant altogether and just play in the casino.

Entertainment/Nightlife

You can get a view of the Sierra Mountains from the casino. Aside from gaming, entertainment includes tours and outdoor activities in Hawthorne. Tour the city including an area that has remained a military secret in America for the last 50 or 60 years and stop by the Walker Lake Country Club for a round of 9-hole golf which is open to the public.

The player’s club is called Player’s Choice and as a member, players will accumulate points at any of the casinos within the Northern Star Casinos group.
