Bucket of Blood Saloon

The Bucket of Blood saloon is an Old West themed building that was constructed in 1876, just a year after the great fire destroyed nearly 1,000 properties in Virginia City, Nevada. Established in 1859 due to the discovery of the Comstock Lode, a tremendous silver deposit, Virginia City is a blast from the Old West past! This city originally grew to prominence as miners, spectators and investors alike flocked in to try to strike it rich in silver. While there is no more silver in those hills, Virginia City, with its population of 800 (3.2% of its all-time high) is a National Historic District and is the closest anyone will come to the authentic Old West. Believe it or not, this city draws over two million visitors a year. This saloon retains the original masonry walls that predate the great fire, so the base structure of the building is one of the oldest you'll find in the entire country. This property, as one would expect, has an old-western themed front, and is reminiscent of the old two-story saloons and Inns one would see in the movies.

Gaming

The Bucket of Blood Saloon is home to fifty slot, video poker and video keno machines and offers a wide range of paytables and denominations. Most people that would frequent this saloon do so for the ambiance and to look at the collection of relics, many dating more than a century, so don't expect to find the most competitive paytables or even any unusual games here.

Dining

This casino does not operate a restaurant and is more known for being a popular place to drink, many people rave about their fantastic Bloody Marys with an unbelievably peppy combination of spices and garnished with a lemon and fresh green bean.

Entertainment/Nightlife

The Bucket of Blood is actually one of the better Virginia City locations with respect to entertainment. They have had their own house band, "David John and the Comstock Cowboys," which is a country band that can be found performing at the saloon on most weekends. They also have a number of other performers in and out of the establishment and it is recommended that you contact them for the schedule.
