Did you know that a new Ghostbusters film has been in the pipeline for some time now? Our thoughts are that they should get on with it already! One thing that provides some salvation is that IGT have released a brand new Ghostbusters themed video slot.
It features original characters, sound bites, animations and features. You’ll even be given the chance to trap some spooks yourself for cash reward!
Ghostbusters Slot Theme
Egon Spengler, Raymond Stantz, Winston Zeddmore, Peter Venkman and even Louis Tully all appear on the reels. You’ll also be treated to the hilarious antics of Slimer and the somewhat scary shrieks of the librarian. There’s also the familiar kit which the ghostbusters used such as the proton packs, traps and the epic car. These icons are all dynamic and take on a different appearance during the free spins bonus round.
The sound effects are quite possibly the best aspect of this slot. Each spin plays the unmistakable soundtrack and you’ll even get to hear the best catchphrases from each of the characters. Ray shouts ‘this is some highly questionable material, whilst Winston yells ‘I ain’t afraid of no ghost’. It’s visually and audibly stunning.
Betting Options and More Functions
Auto spins are available and are very useful if you are confident with online slots. There’s also an option to stop spins before the allotted number if you want.
The graphics used on this slot are eye popping and may cause your computer to run slowly, especially if your connection is slow. Thankfully there are three options which ensure you can enjoy play. Choose Best for high quality graphics, high for optimal graphics and medium for lower quality graphics (best for performance over a slower connection).
Ghostbusters Slot Features
Slimer got a raw deal in the films, we much prefer the cartoon where he provided hilarious antics each episode. On this slot he is very helpful because his icon can slime an entire reel and turn it wild. These icons can substitute for any regular icon which means only the granny wilds and bonus icons are excluded.
Granny Gross, aka the librarian, is also wild. This icon can only appear on the fourth reel and can also turn the whole reel wild. The added benefit of these wilds is that any icon touching the corner of the wild could also be morphed into another wild.
Ballroom Busters is a bonus game which recreates the scene from the first film where the Ghostbusters capture a spook whilst destroying the Grand Ballroom in the process. It is triggered when two bonus icons appear on the second and third reels whilst Slimer appears on the fourth reel. This challenges you to unleash up to five proton blasts in a bid to find ghosts which will reveal a maximum 5x multiplier. The round ends once all five shots have been used.
The Stay Puft bonus game is triggered when two bonus icons appear on the second and third reel whilst the Stay Puft Marshmallow man appears on the fourth reel. This awards 8 free spins which play on 40 paylines (that’s ten more than the regular game). After each spin marshmallows can stay on the reels as added bonus wilds. Alternatively these marshmallows can be sucked into the win meter which pays out more bonus wins.
Our Take on Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters is as popular with people today as it was in the 80s and this slot is an awesome addition to the franchise. We love the sound bites, animations and bonus games. It’s all good and is well worth playing. I ain’t afraid of no ghost, are you? Play Ghostbusters at any of the online casinos listed below.

"Star Trek is the first one of the 3 I came across and used to watch it a lot on VHS when I was a kid. It will always hold a special place. Stargate is an awesome one in most respects (setting, story and character wise). Its also the only one that is a single movie and not the franchise (which means the movie has the beginig and the end :D ), though I read there are plans to make it a franchise with a sequels, reboots and whatnot. As for the Star Wars, it somehow never grew up on me. I can watch it and its fine, but Im no fan of it. As for the themed slots, I never played Gthech's Stargate so I would probably go with Microgaming's Star Trek :D"READ
