Hole In The Wall is a whacky game show which first appeared on British TV screens on BBC One. It’s monumental success is partly down to its unique games and almost definitely due to the way it humiliates celebrities by placing them in lycra suits. This success has led the brand to branch out into board games and now a top of the line video slot from Openbet.

Hole In The Wall Slot Theme

Hole In The Wall has five reels and twenty paylines which have been sandwiched between a silver reel case, similar to the costume color celebrities have to wear when competing on the show. The background has been designed to look like the set too with red, white, blue and silver color schemes dominating the reels.

Reel icons also draw heavily from the show with different games being represented by individual icons. They include red team contestants, blue team contestants, celebrating contestants, banana wielding contestants, space hopper contestants, wilds, bonus and replay icons. They’ve also included red A, K, Q and J icons to complete a set of 11 icons.

Gameplay benefits from sound effects distinct to the show. Klaxons, bumps and cracks can be heard during bonus games and every spin plays the theme song too. Every single reel icon includes its own animated sequence to mark a win. For example the space hopper bounces, the clear man dances and the standard icons explode into smithereens in a similar way to the polystyrene wall on the show.

The variety on the reels carries right through to the wagering options which range from 0.05 to £/$/€200. If you can’t find an ideal bet within that range we’d argue you won’t find it on many other slots either.

Hole in the Wall Slot Features

The Wild symbol will replace any other single icon if a winning combination is possible. It can’t replace bonus or replay scatters but does have a refreshing trick up its sleeve. Unlike other slots the wild will transform and rotate the changed icon to make the win clearer, why other slots don’t use this simple trick is beyond me. Simple yet effective.

Three or more replay icons will award a scatter win and a free spin. Three, four or five scatters in any position will award 1x, 3x or 25x your total stake accordingly.

The Hole in the Wall bonus game begins with at least three bonus icons present on the reels at the same time. You select one of the walls to be awarded an instant prize which is then multiplied for every wall you manage to defeat. The round is fairly tricky as you direct the character to take up the correct position before they smash into the wall.

Regular viewers, or even infrequent passers by, will appreciate this slot as it combines the best of both worlds; slot technology and a hilarious television program are presented in unison for your entertainment.

Loved your review Dominic, it really says something about a slot game when you can't find anything interesting to point out about it, or even a positive aspect to mention along with all the 'average, average, average' points. I mostly agree too, it looks very bland and the colours dont go together very well - there aren't many of them to begin with either, another slot that looks like they were targetting it for 16 colour windows 3.1 !

This slot is very boring.. it must be said.. the visuals are so bland, and it looks like someone made it on microsoft paint. The audio is pretty bad too. The game itself features nothing particualrly special and the features are pretty boring, this is not the sort of game i would like to put money on again, as there is much better games out there.

When I first came across this slot game I thought it probably had a western theme and it sounded like it would be fun to play. Well I could not of been more wrong about the theme of Hole In The Wall slot machine. Instead, Hole In The Wall is a five-reel, 20 line slot machine and its theme is 3D with kind of a futuristic type twist to it. The Hole In The Wall slot machine has little weird men icons with no faces and some of these little weird men icons carry bananas or ride on some type of animal. The slot machine also has the standard A, K, and Q icons. Hole In The Wall slot machine has a lot of extra features such as, some of the little weird men icons are on a blue or red team which I think might have a higher payout. I never got three of the red or blue team icons lined up so I still do not know what they would pay. Another extra feature is the replay icon. When I hit three of these I got paid immediately plus a received a free spin. The slot machine also has a wild card that changes to create a winning spin and that was some thing I had never seen before. I did not play Hole In The Wall for very long because the play money version of the slot machine only gives a player a $1000.00 starting bank. Since I was playing with play money, I was betting the maximum coin value amount of $10.00 and playing the maximum of 20 lines. A nice thing about the play money balance was it automatically refilled and I did not have to close the game and then re-enter to refill my balance. There was one thing while I was playing the slot machine that I found very annoying. It was a pop-up screen that kept asking if I wanted to play for real money. The pop-up screen appeared about every minute or so and that is what made it so annoying. Out of 5 stars, I gave Hole In The Wall slot machine a 2.
