All of us who love RTG games will be glad to hear that the company has released another 50-line slot with an unusual theme – monsters! So, if you’re a fan of Godzilla or Yeti comics, or perhaps movies in which monsters spread terror throughout a big city, crashing and smashing everything in their way, you’ll love RTG’s “Monster Mayhem” and its entertaining twist of the popular theme.

You see, this five-reel, 50-line progressive video slot introduces a couple of comical monsters, Smash and Crash, which go around the city and do precisely what their names imply. Trying to get away from them are pretty lady and a helpless policeman, who doesn’t seem to believe his eyes. In addition, on the reels you’ll see a bunch of crashed cars, helicopters, buildings on fire, torn papers and broken cameras, all testifying of the terrible wrongdoings of the two monsters, who actually look quite funny! The sounds are typical RTG sounds with a few monster roars, to complement the theme.

To make the game more interesting, the RTG developers introduced some special features – including two monster wilds, a scatter, and a rewarding re-spin bonus round. But to be able to get any of those, players need to think about their preferred bet amounts first. There’s no need to worry whether you can afford to play “Monster Mayhem”, as it supports a whole range of coin amounts, starting from the minimal 1 cent and moving up to $5 per payline, enabling highrollers to enjoy the game with a maximum bet amount of $250. In return, the game offers you the possibility to win one of the two random progressives – Minor and Major, whose amount you watch growing as you play.

Special Features:

As mentioned before, “Monster Mayhem” offers only a few features, which are generous, but aren’t enough to compensate for the somewhat stingy base game. Nevertheless, the special features are very cute and involve Crash and Smash wilds, which appear only on reels 1 (Smash) and five (Crash) and replace all other symbols, including scatters, in order to bring more winning opportunities.

In combination with each other, i.e. when they both appear on reels 1 and 5 in the same spin, they will award up to 10 re-spins in which reels 1 and 5 are held, and the others re-spin, awarding a +1x multiplier to each re-spin. This feature can be highly rewarding, and it appears fairly often, so it’s worth hoping for. Finally, the burning City scatter has its basic role – to pay any, but an unusual benefit of the game is that it can be replaced by a wild symbol if needed.

Looking back at “Monster Mayhem”, one cannot really complain about the game. Its base game payout rate could be better, that’s true, but the overall impression is that it’s fun, occasionally rewarding and, generally speaking, a title one should give a shot.

"Blimey, going through this thread reminded me of my chain-smoking days...   I quit 7 years ago, and now I cannot even remember what I smoked back in the day. I do remember I  started with PalMal, and then went on with several varieties of Ronhil, which cost around 2 euros, then. It amounted to me spending around 40 / 50 eurs per month just on the damn ciggies. The funny thing is that I quit by accident, not because I wanted to. I contracted some nasty stomach flu, which gave me a bad case of vomiting, diarrhea and fever that lasted for 10 days. Did not even think of lighting a ciggie, that's how bad it was. When I did light it, on the 11th day, it felt disgusting. I guess my body cleansed itself of the toxins in the meantime. And since it felt nasty and I did not enjoy it any more....I decided to not force myself into smoking again and just stop. It was hard during the first 2 months or so cause I had strong cravings, especially after lunch and in the evening but I soldiered on, and eventually did not feel them any more.   I'd be lying if I said that a thought of being healthier is what kept me off ciggies. It was mostly the thought of saving tons of MONEY, muhaha!! Sorry for the long post, but the point is - save your pennies for better stuff, people! Cheers :)"
