How to play Aces and Eights

Aces & Eights is one in a myriad of poker based games from MultiSlot; don’t be confused though as this most certainly is poker and not a video slot! Players use a single hand at a time and must use their skills to create a hand containing at least a pair of Jacks.

How to play Aces & Eights Video Poker

Aces & Eights begins in much the same way as other video poker games; with the setting of bets. This is easy as it gets as you choose a coin value using the plus and minus buttons. You can even opt to wager multiple coins by pressing the ‘BET ONE’ button; this selects 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 coins and highlights the potential prizes on the pay table.

The second step is to place your bets by pressing deal. This sees 5 initial cards land on the screen in front of you. This is the point where you must decide which cards to keep and which cards to throw away. Press draw to replace any discarded cards and you’ll end up with your final hand on which any prizes will be paid.

The lowest paying hand triggers with a pair of Jacks (max 5:1). More interesting winning hands include four sevens, aces or eights (up to 400:1) and the prized Royal Flush (4000:1).

I'm not very familiar with the aces and eights variant of video poker so I can't comment on the above posters suggestion that the paytable is not up to scratch on this game although I definitely agree that the speed of the game is very impressive particularly as my internet connection can be a bit flaky at times as well. I would definitely like to see some more features offered and perhaps the option to play 2 or 4 hands as well although I imagine this would be detrimental to the speed ... still its a nicely made game and thats nice to see from an unknown developer.

A glance at the paytable I can't help thinking a couple of payouts are lower than normal for Aces and Eights, but playing the game I am really impressed with the speed - this is the kind of video poker I love to play when I'm at my sharpest! Unfortunately there is no double up option, and I'm kind of hooked on that as far as VP goes, so I wouldn't play this seriously, but it's an excellent demonstration of what is possible and I hope the creators will put a little more effort into their future versions by adding auto hold and double up features - then this would be a real challenger for best VP around.
