How to play All American

An All American is an accolade given to the top athletes in their field. It also lends its name to a well-known casino game that Espresso Gaming have adapted for their players. We have installed a complimentary version of this above, so you can experience it yourself for free.

How to Play All American

All American is similar to Jokers or Better in terms of looks and functions. You even place bets in the same way. First you will need to choose a coin value using the buttons in the bottom right corner. After this you can Bet Max to select 5 coins or press Bet 1 to choose any number of coins between 1 and 5.

The second action actually starts the game. Hit the Deal button and 5 cards will appear on the screen. Click these cards to mark them as ‘held’, which tells the machine you want to keep them, before pressing ‘Draw’ to replace the discarded cards. This leaves you with 5 cards which will be compared to the winning hands on the paytable; match one and the prize will be paid out.

Information on how the All American Poker works can be viewed under the ‘Menu’ button, but we’re pretty sure you’ll learn how it works quickly; practice makes perfect as they say.

  • I don't like the fact you have to choose the size of your coin when the game loads, and reload it to make a change to this - there doesn't seem any good reason they could not have included this control within the main game interface. I do really like the playing cards used though, and I like the structure of the paytable as well even though it is not standard for All American Video Poker.

Espresso haven't done a bad job with their video poker emulation - better than the majority of their slots in my view! This is a very playable version, the cards have a very unique look to them but once you get used to them are really quite quick to read. The double up feature is the proper five card version and the paytable has been tweaked in an interesting way - the straight flush payout has been dropped from the standard 200 and the extra RTP allocated to the lower, more common wins - Perhaps not what everybody playing All American will like, but I think its quite a small change to the straight flush payoff for the gains made below - definitely a winner.
