Cashblox is not a typical video slot, some might even class it as a game. We like to think of it as a cross between Tetris and a video slot because wins are paid out when different blocks link in one or more lines. A cascading array of wavy lines rotates in the background as the logo periodically disappears and then reanimates on the screen, this offers a taste of the retro gameplay to come. The layout is also a little zany when compared to your standard slot machine, the multiplier paytable is located on the lefthand side of the screen whilst the game is on the right.

The reel icons are a mixture of straight, t shaped, squares, s, z and L blocks as found on the 80s classic Tetris. These don’t carry a value on their own but instead combine to create horizontal lines. The prizes won are reflected on the paytable with single, double, triples and quads all paying out increasing amounts.

There are four buttons which allow you to set your total stake, play automatically or even slow gameplay down so you can watch the blocks falling into place. The stake up/down buttons adjusts the amount bet, this ranges from 0.50 to $/£/€5 per play.

Changing the stake also alters the paytable with higher wagers offering larger potential wins. The paytable automatically updates itself according to the stake value.

The unique way prizes are paid out as increasing line wins is what sets Cashblox aside from other video slot. For example a single line win will pay 0.05 on the lowest stake, whilst five single line wins would pay $/£/€5. Each time a line combination is made it disappears to allow more blocks to fall which creates the possibility of more wins.

The game includes magic blocks which award 10 free plays when a line is formed containing them. Any wins gained during the free plays are doubled, this usually pays well and can be re-triggered.
