How to play European Blackjack
Blackjack is as popular now as it has always been, perhaps more so when you consider the varieties available from Cryptologic alone. This version is called European Blackjack, which means it comes complete with an enhanced set of options that cater for the more liberal player.
Each game is played with 6 decks of cards, each containing 52 that are shuffled between hands. You can play up to 5 hands per game and can even choose from different tables to play at, with each one boasting different limits.
How to Play European Blackjack
You’ll have to select a table to play at from the rather bland menu that simply presents table limits (it’d be much better if this screen actually showed tables rather than just numbers). After this you’ll have your first glimpse of the table that allows up to 5 hands to be played at a time.
The rules differ somewhat from Vegas Blackjack, namely:
- The dealer cannot check to see if they hold Blackjack. This means you will get to make a choice on every hand.
- Any soft 17 gained by the dealer will prompt him to stand
- You can split up to a maximum of 3 times, meaning a single hand could turn into 4 individual ones. You’ll need exact pairs in a hand for this to happen, at which point you can decide whether to split or not.
