How to play Happy 60s

About Happy 60’s Slot

If you can still remember using the word ‘groovy’ and still relate well to retro cool words such as this, you are going to love Happy 60’s because…well…it’s a happy game on a 60’s theme. Of course if you relate to the theme and you love to play slots, you will be as happy as Lucy was when she found herself in the sky with diamonds. This simple little tubular video slot from Skill On Net could probably keep you well entertained for hours – it’s a no-brainer.

Theme and Design of the Game

There is only really one way to describe the design of this video slot – psychedelic – if that doesn’t say it all, then we don’t know what will. Vibrant colours in that 60’s design, framed with flowers, stars and so on form the backdrop of the design, while a cool kind of sixties melody plays to make sure you stay in the mood. It is laid-back, simple to play and a five-reel, thirty pay-line slot with a coin range to fit any bankroll. So, sit back, light up a spliff and enjoy the ride. Play for free at first if you like, and play for money later once you are not feeling so fried.

Typically the theme is 60’s so free love, peace signs, lava lamps, magic mushrooms, weed, yellow submarines, flowers, the ankh, the dove of peace, and more are all represented as symbolic to that era, as they are symbolic to the game. Let’s hope the peace signs or other symbols align to make sure you get in with a chance to win.

Jackpots and Bonus Games

The first thing that struck us as amusing, was the fact that the weed symbol is what activates the bonus game. This is not a progressive slot but psychedelic scatters can win you three x multipliers on free spins and these can be pretty lucrative. The maximum coins jackpot is 4000 which on the top coin range means a prize of $40,000 in cash. Not too shabby – what do you say? One of the really nice, but kind of freaky things about this game is that wins are paid both left to right and right to left, so, there is two more times chance of winning.

Overall Impression

This reviewer has to admit that the game brought a smile to her dial. Being able to relate to the era helped, although it was just a tad before my time. Fortunately retro is in, it is the new zeitgeist, so, try it out for yourself and you never know, playing Happy 60’s might be the game that brings your yellow submarine in.

I'm a little to young to have much memory of the sixties per se, but I do enjoy these games based on the era. I've not seen many of these SkillOnNet games "in the wild" as they say recently, which is a shame, as I think I prefer this one to the NetEnt offering. Gotta love collecting the hemp leaf bonus symbols for the feature :) Better yet, there is a 3x multiplier in the free spins too.

I'm playing for fun money but tended to lose interest in this game. It's colorful and has a cute concept, but doesn't sustain with payouts that are significant enough to keep going. I won the free spins 4 times and got 2x, 4x, 2x and 6x my wager. Other payouts were less than the wager up to 2x and occasionally more. Incidentally, the theme is late 60s (after 1965), before 1965 these symbols and overall look would have seemed very strange. The technology level seems lower than many other games on the site and not quite as engaging. In fact that repetitious music and distracting movements tend to take away from it. I appreciate playing for fun on any game, but this one could have been more fun with a few changes and more regular payouts.
