How to play Joker Poker

Joker Poker is one of the most modern and exciting video poker games because Joker Cards can count as any other. The neat thing about this is some unusual winning hands are possible (ones that can’t be found on other poker games) and you can play up to 25 at a time too.

How to Play Joker Poker

Joker Poker is arranged in a similar way to many other video poker machines, so frequent players will settle right into playing. Everyone else will pick things up quickly too because wagers require three choices:

- Coin Value: this is configured using the buttons in the bottom left. Coins valued between 0.01 and $1 can be selected

- Coins: you can choose to play 1 to 5 coins on each active hand

- Hand: Joker Poker is played with 1 to 25 hands. They are selected using the horizontal panel at the top

After choosing a wager you'll be ready to begin. Simply press the deal button and 5 cards will appear on the table. You can keep or throw away any of these cards in preparation for the final draw. The draw stage sees any discarded card positions filled with new cards so you have a final hand of 5 cards. It's this final hand that will be used to decide what prize, if any, will be paid.

A wild Royal Flush for example can pay 500 coins, or 5 of a kind (only possible as the wild acts as a fifth card) pays 1,000:1 when betting 5 coins. The largest prize still comes when a Royal Flush is gained, which could pay up to 4,000:1 if you are betting 5 coins at the time.

This interface has been used for other video poker variations and whilst it isn't the best looking, it does have great features including the option to select from several different numbers of hands and a proper five card double up. The cards themselves are well drawn, and actually look a touch out of place with the rest of the software - a little TOO clean! The paytable is standard for Joker Poker so all good there. Overall then, its an enjoyable version.
