Pai Gow poker, as the name so eloquently suggests, is an online poker game that blends in elements of the ancient Chinese game called Pai Gow. This combination has proven very popular, with multiple software houses (such as BetSoft) producing different versions of the game.
How to Play Pai Gow
After the first 7 cards are dealt you will be asked to choose your highest and second highest cards. This forms a group of 5 and a group of 2 cards, both of which must beat the dealers hands to receive a payout of 1:1. If you win just one hand you’ll receive your stake back with a message to push, but losing both hands will mean the dealer takes your stake.
It is impossible to play a ‘dead hand’ on this version of Pai Gow, because the machine simply will not let you select a second hand that is higher than the first. It’s still worth remembering that this is against the rules though, especially if you decide to play Pai Gow in a land based casino where failsafes aren’t included.
An in-depth help menu can be accessed on the left. This guide provides instructions on how to play, gives details on payouts and even has a section that details controls and tips. With all this in mind we’d love for you to try Pai Gow yourself on the free version above.
