How to play Sale of the Century

Sale of the Century is a 5 reel video slot based upon the hit television gameshow with the same name. Cryptologic has combined the sites and sounds of the original show with their latest gaming software. It packs in four different features, each of which offers entertainment and the chance to win instant prizes on a fairly regular basis (the marked payout is 95.21%).

Using the Sale of the Century Slot

Cryptologic has included their easy to use interface at the bottom of the slot. This allows to configure bets by changing the ‘bet’ and ‘lines’ options which are multiplied together to create your total bet.

To place a bet (the amount wagered per spin) you must first choose a coin value. This ranges from 1p to £3.75, with a variety of currencies available. Next you’ll need to decide whether to reduce the number of lines from the default 25. Both of these options will determine your total bet which is displayed in the bottom right-hand corner.

The game is played by either pressing the ‘auto’ button or by using the autoplay option on the left.

Sale of the Century Slot Features Explained

The buzzer icon is wild and can substitute for other icons to create more winning opportunities. It only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 and cannot replace the ? Or scattered logo.

An instant win is paid at random. You must decide whether to accept or ‘chance’ a new offer. You can do this twice before automatically being paid the third offer.

When a ? Appears in reels 2, 3 and 4 the super pick bonus round begins. You will be awarded either an instant win, free spins or a combination of them both. There is also a chance to win entry into the gift shop bonus game.

An alternative way to start the gift shop bonus round is to spin in 3, 4 or 5 bonus scatters. This opens up a special three reel slot which spins 8 times to award gift tokens as wins. Each token gives you one pick in the gift shop, with each pick awarding an instant win.

I played this game quite awhile back at 888.com and had some decent wins, with the Sale of the Century feature. I was playing I think $1.25 or $2.50 a spin. It was quite a nice win, and I did like playing this game. You can get 3 different features here. I don't play much at 888.com anymore since the Microgaming but I do miss this casino, they have some great games over there, that I like anyways. I had a big win over there of about $5000.00 at 888.com on a Santa slot, I worked my way up and made a few $30.00 bets and hit free spins on this, and away I was winning this. I don;t usually bet $30.00 a spin but I had won some money and just thought I'd do a few and there I was winning, that high amount.

Like the custom paint job LCB ! Sadly though, after spinning the reels a handful of times, the game locked up on me and the spin button no longer would do anything, even if I reloaded the game - I can't help wondering if this is something to do with the horrible "feature" 888 insist on putting into these demo games whereby it asks you if you would like to play for real money instead every few spins, but for some reason it has gone wrong here and I cannot see the dialog box in order to say no. Sale of the Century wasn't a bad game in its day though, and if you can find it in its old guise somewhere other than 888, its worth a try.

Old nextgen game and since that looks not so nice, bonuses also not so great. I did not like this, one of the worst nextgen game.
