How to play Vegas Downtown

Vegas Downtown Blackjack is a variation of the standard Blackjack game that is available for members of any Microgaming online Casino. Vegas Downtown Blackjack was designed to give players the feel of playing at a casino in Vegas without leaving the confines of their home. The game is played on two standard 52 card decks, and it is an American Hole Card Game.

Like most other Microgaming Blackjack games, Vegas Downtown Blackjack has a payout of 2 on a Blackjack, but it does not allow players the option of Surrender. Vegas Downtown Blackjack is a single player game, and it does not allow multiple hands. In the expert mode of the game, players have the chance to use an Auto-Play option, which can be programmed to play instead of the player, given a number of constraints. This auto-play version allows players to test various Blackjack Strategies.

Like any other Blackjack game, the object of the game is for the player to hold a hand with a higher total than that of the dealer, without the total exceeding 21. Any total in excess of 21 is called a Bust. Both the player and the dealer are dealt one card each. If the dealer’s card is an Ace, the player has the option of purchasing insurance, which has a 2 to 1 payout.

  • Another excellent blackjack variant from Microgaming, the house edge is slightly higher than the Vegas Strip version, so whether you play this one or not will largely depend on how much the diffrent rules matter to you - in this case as far as I can tell the differences are, dealer hits a soft 17, and 2 decks instead of 4. This changes the house edge to 0.37 percent with optimal play, or 0.45 with standard basic strategy - Still very good compared to most online games.
