The Umpire Strikes Back is quite possibly the only title in the world which could give a classic cricket themed slot mass appeal. It's built using Microgaming technology and uses the ever popular pub slot format. This means multipliers, nudges, win spins, holds and plenty more bonus features are included as well as an impressive $10,000 maximum jackpot.

The Umpire Strikes Back Theme

A grinning umpire can be seen in the slots foreground wielding a cricket bat. He must be pretty accurate with it too, judging by the players in the background who can be seen diving or scurrying away.

The slot uses an informal layout similar to other pub slots. You'll notice the reels are in the middle of the screen which leaves plenty of room for the paytable and nudge trails in the fringe areas.

Many of the reel icons are cricket themed too. These include cricket bats, 4 placards, 6 placards, pads, helmets and the umpire himself. You'll also notice a couple of standard icons such as cherries, lemons and oranges which are used to bolster the lineup to 9 regular icons in total.

Betting Options and More Functions

The main reels benefit from nudges, holds, win spins and shiftas. These are features in addition to the bonus round which we'll talk about later and in our opinion give the game a true pub slot feel.

The Umpire Strikes Back Slot Features

Three or more cricket balls on screen (on the payline or not) will trigger the bonus game. This presents three higher or lower games which can advance you along three different trails. The red trail awards multiplier prizes which max out at 2000x your bet. The yellow trail awards progressively better on-reel features and the blue trail awards up to 50 nudges.

You can mix and match which trail to gamble on (some might start on a 9 for example so you'd pick to go lower on that one first). It's worth remembering that you can lose, so try to collect if you think the odds are against you.

Our Take on The Umpire Strikes Back

We'd have never predicted in a million years that a slot based on cricket could be so much fun. The quirky graphics, bonus features and sound effects all combine to create a very entertaining slot, whether you enjoy cricket or not.

"I just started using bitcoin myself. I buy bitcoin using my checking account thru Coinbase. It takes a little longer than using a debit/credit card but if I understand it correctly the fees are lower that way. Then I transfer bitcoin to my wallet at Blockchain before depositing at an online casino. I made two deposits at Slotastic! and one at Slotocash and each time the money was there immediately. The only problem I had was on my first deposit I did not account for the conversion difference when making a minimum amount deposit and my bonus did not get triggered automatically. I got it soon worked out though when I contacted support thru Live Chat and explained the mistake was caused by my first time using bitcoin. They credited my account with the bonus and just suggested I add a little more next time to cover the additional fees and conversion rate differences. I didn't do too good at Slotocash but did much better at Slotastic! and even though I made my deposit using bitcoin there was a message on the Withdraw screen saying I had to send in their Credit Card Authorization Agreement before I could make a withdrawal. I contacted Live Support to clarify and they advised I only had to send in a copy of my drivers license and a recent utility bill to verify my identity not my credit card. After I emailed these documents I received an email the next day advising my documents had been received and approved. I then submitted my withdrawal request and expected an immediate response just like I got on my deposit but it didn't happen. That's been about 7 hours ago now so I'm guessing it might be a day or two at least if I'm lucky before anything happens. But if it happens then that'll be much better than having to wait weeks or months like some have to. I'll update later when the withdrawal is finally completed."
