Scientific Games, provider of gambling products and services to lottery and gaming organizations across the globe, is gushing over the smooth ability of its latest slot titles to cross over interchangeably to multiple divisions. More specifically, the company is very pleased with the cross-channel appeal of its most recent Jackpot Party and Goldfish slots, which have gained much popularity online and in land-based facilities.
Evidence to their crossover appeal comes from the release of instant lottery versions of the games, which went live with both the New York and Ohio lotteries earlier this year. Additionally, according to a study cited by Michael Lightman, Scientific Games’ senior vice president of Lottery Interactive, 74% of reel machine players across Europe and the U.S. also dabble in lottery instant games.
Lightman stated, “Incorporating our popular casino brands into lottery products introduces lottery to other gaming enthusiasts while the innovative game attributes designed into these new games will help deepen engagement with existing players,” further adding, “This is really the beginning of some fantastic crossover brand innovation developed by Scientific Games since the integration of Bally and WMS content following our mergers.”
Director of the New York Lottery, Gardner Gurney, had high hopes for Jackpot Party, believing it to be an ideal candidate for crossover to its lotter portfolio, from the moment it launched.
Gurney commented, “We are always searching for ways to work collectively with the video gaming facilities within New York and Jackpot Party has offered us this opportunity. Just as video gaming customers expect bonusing opportunities, the back of the Jackpot Party instant game offers lottery players similar bonus opportunities to win.”
He continued, “New York players have been receptive to the instant game; we see Jackpot Party as a brand with omni-channel appeal."
In reference to Scientific Games’ Goldfish slots, director of the Ohio Lottery, Dennis Berg, stated, “The Gold Fish brand is a popular VLT game in our Ohio racinos, so it was a natural cross-over to a lottery instant game. The Gold Fish instant game is performing well in our $2 game category."

Okay, the prospect of any kind of bonus from a lottery type game seems like a very appealing one as those guys are total jokers at the best of times. I'm sure the situation in the US isn't much better than here in the UK where the odds of winning a lottery jackpot have recently been chopped to a quarter of their previous level, though I guess those in the US will probably take a bet wherever they can find one with the appalling state of their on-line gambling industry!
