Playtech signs with Cogetech S.p.A

Online gambling software developer Playtech plc has signed up its fourth Italian licensee in a poker agreement with Cogetech S.p.A, an Italian online and land based operator. Cogetech provides sports betting "white label" solutions to several industry-leading Italian and global operators.

The agreement marks another stage in the rapid growth of Playtech's Italian iPoker network, which recently added Snai, Sisal and Gala Coral's Eurobet Italia as licensees.

Under the terms of the license agreement, Playtech will provide Cogetech with its entire portfolio of poker games in tournament form. At present, the software is downloadable in a "play for fun" mode, which provides players with the opportunity to improve their strategies and hone their skills for free. A "play for real money'' mode is intended for launch later this year.

The product has been fully integrated with Cogetech's online betting system and the agreement complies with all Italian regulatory standards. It has been designed specifically to appeal to the Italian market and customised to meet all functional requirements, including a true 'shared wallet' experience between the sportsbook and poker room, with matching language and currency.

Mor Weizer, Chief Executive Officer of Playtech, commented: "This latest addition of Cogetech to Playtech's Italian ipoker network demonstrates that the company is capturing an ever more prominent position in the country, and is committed to expanding its presence in regulated European markets. We look forward to a long and productive partnership that will be mutually beneficial for both parties, and to providing new and exciting gaming opportunities for Italian players."

Fabio Schiavolin, Chief Executive Officer of Cogetech, said: "We chose Playtech over other providers because they are one of the leading players in global management platforms with a very strong and liquid poker network. We look forward to working with them to provide all our customers with an exciting, reliable and continually evolving service which will provide the best possible player experience."

"I just started using bitcoin myself. I buy bitcoin using my checking account thru Coinbase. It takes a little longer than using a debit/credit card but if I understand it correctly the fees are lower that way. Then I transfer bitcoin to my wallet at Blockchain before depositing at an online casino. I made two deposits at Slotastic! and one at Slotocash and each time the money was there immediately. The only problem I had was on my first deposit I did not account for the conversion difference when making a minimum amount deposit and my bonus did not get triggered automatically. I got it soon worked out though when I contacted support thru Live Chat and explained the mistake was caused by my first time using bitcoin. They credited my account with the bonus and just suggested I add a little more next time to cover the additional fees and conversion rate differences. I didn't do too good at Slotocash but did much better at Slotastic! and even though I made my deposit using bitcoin there was a message on the Withdraw screen saying I had to send in their Credit Card Authorization Agreement before I could make a withdrawal. I contacted Live Support to clarify and they advised I only had to send in a copy of my drivers license and a recent utility bill to verify my identity not my credit card. After I emailed these documents I received an email the next day advising my documents had been received and approved. I then submitted my withdrawal request and expected an immediate response just like I got on my deposit but it didn't happen. That's been about 7 hours ago now so I'm guessing it might be a day or two at least if I'm lucky before anything happens. But if it happens then that'll be much better than having to wait weeks or months like some have to. I'll update later when the withdrawal is finally completed."
