Eurosportsbet to target Italian market

Eurosport subsidiary will familiarise staff with Italian regulatory regime

The European-facing online gambling site will soon have an Italian market sister in, launching this (October) month. Both sites are betting subsidiaries of the Eurosport television network, a major media group.

The new site will provide valuable staff experience for operating in a regulated market, useful for entry into the liberated French sector when this opens up in 2010, chief executive Olivier Ou Ramdane observed.

The Italian site will complement the company's existing and popular

Eurosport built the SPS Betting platform in-house, launching mid-2009. There's big money in the venture through investment fund Serendipity (see previous InfoPowa reports) which was created by construction and telecoms giant Groupe Bouygues, and Artemis, the holding company for fashion and retail conglomerate Groupe Pinault.
