Another licence suspended by Gambling Commission

ATL Amusements cited in latest investigation

Industry observers have so far been unable to agree on what has caused the UK Gambling Commission to suspend another British licensee whilst it completes an investigation.

The brief announcement from the Commission provides little information on the reason for the suspension and simply states:

“The Gambling Commission has commenced a review under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005 (the Act) and, under section 118 of the Act, has decided to suspend the Combined Operating Licence number 000-022061-N-306796-001 (Nicky Shorrock and Andrew Uppington t/a ATL Amusements, ATL Hire) relating to an adult gaming centre and machine supplier, whilst the review takes place.

“The suspension is an interim measure, the need for which will be kept under consideration during the review.

“The Commission will make no further comment until the review is complete.”

The Commission issued much the same sort of notification in March this year when it suspended Operating Licence number 000-002604-R-104107-004 (Gameaccount Global Limited) relating to remote casino activity.

The results on the Gameaccount Global investigation do not appear to have been released yet.
