Zynga Poker gears up to launch it's own website

Social gaming giant about to launch its own website

The developer of one of the most popular poker apps on internet social gaming sites, San Francisco-based Zynga, is gearing up to launch its own website in addition to making its games available on major social gaming websites.

The usually well-informed publication Techcrunch broke the news as last week came to a close, noting that Zynga’s massively used games would probably feature on the new site, tentatively branded Zynga Live.

Zynga is responsible for some of the most popular apps on Facebook. According to All Facebook's app leaderboard, four Zynga apps are currently in the top ten, used by millions of online players.

Zynga also makes games for other platforms, including MySpace, MSN, My Yahoo, and the iPhone.

Zynga CEO Mark Pincus has apparently announced the Zynga Live intiative and confirmed some tension between Zynga and Facebook.

Facebook and Zynga have been negotiating on Facebook Credits and have disagreed, leading to the social networking site shutting down Zynga's feeds and threatening to shut down games, it was reported. In return, Zynga threatened to pull out of Facebook and has prepared itself to do so.

The dispute is rooted in a demand by Facebook that game developers use only Facebook Credits as a payment platform, on which the site takes 30 percent.
