LadyLuck brand to offer three mobile games suitable for iPhone
Mobile gambling company Probability plc has joined the rush to make games available on the popular iPhone and iPod Touch hardware, this week launching three games through its LadyLuck brand.
The three initial games are Roulette, multi-hand Blackjack and the Poseidon slot, with a fourth game, the Goldrush slot, scheduled for release during the European summer.
The games will not be available from the App Store, instead being offered through Probability’s licensees and white label clients.
"iPhone has transformed the mobile landscape and made mass-market, consumer mobile gambling games a reality,” said Probability chief executive Charles Cohen this week.
“Clearly this also gives us the opportunity to address a whole new audience who have moved on from camera phones and keypads. We have already established strong relationships with the likes of AdMob and other key players in the race to reach iPhone users."
Cohen added that iPad users would also be catered for later this year.
The success of the iPhone continues to gather momentum: independent numbers from IDC estimate that 3 million iPhones were sold in Europe during Q1 2010, a massive rise over the 900 000 sold in the same quarter in 2009.
Sales continue unabated, with latest reports noting that an estimated 1,7 million iPhone4 units were sold globally on the first day of its launch, and continued popularity despite teething problems with signal settings.
