Higher revenues possible owing to new technologies, gambling industry expert claims
The internet-connected tablets are perfect example of cutting-edge technology which is going to open new prospects for interactive online casino games including roulette and blackjack, the internet gambling industry expert Clive Hawkswood claims.
As the chief executive of Global Betting and Gaming Consultants, Hawkswood says that the new hardware technology such as Apple iPad will be used by growing numbers of customers to place wagers on the outcome of events and play games at internet casinos. Additionally, he predicts the growth in use of gambling applications for tablet devices as a result of the latest trends.
Highlighting the advantages of the modern age devices, Hawkswood also said: “The restrictions of the pre-digital age have been swept away; it's a cliché, but this truly is the 24/7 society and consumers want their products and services, and accessibility to those, to reflect that".
Hawkswood commented that "gambling is following ... the general trend in the consumers' seemingly endless desire for innovative technologies, which they use in all aspects of their daily lives for both business and pleasure.“
He observed that punters can now more easily wager on the events ‘outcomes as the new easy-to-use devices such as iPAD provide all "the best features of PCs and mobiles" in addition to being "rapid, global and without geographical limitations".
He drew attention to the results of the latest research conducted by the renowned Gartner group according to which there will be 19.5 million tablets sold globally by the end of 2010. Furthermore, 181 percent growth is expected by the end of 2011, and more than the 208 million units level by 2014.
The forecast is based on the devices’ popularity and continuing improvements in downloading options, broadband availability and higher speed.
