PricewaterhouseCoopers releases a promising report
It was stated by an independent business services group PricewaterhouseCoopers that Las Vegas could see some recovering results sometime toward the end of 2011, but it also warned of the competition in shape of digital entertainment.
In its report on Nevada’s land gambling treasury, the group expressed belief that the state should return to pre-recession level by 2014, adding that its major competitor will be the digital entertainment industry.
They assessed that: "In markets across the world, the proliferation of digital challenges and services is driving an explosion in the entertainment choices available to consumers, ranging from 3D movies to mobile TV to massively multi-player online games.”
"The single biggest challenge facing the industry will be staying close to its consumers - at all levels of spending - and ensuring the experience remains sufficiently compelling to override other potential choices."
