35 million fraud attempts foiled in 2010
New fraud numbers emerged this week when the anti-fraud software and service provider Innovation announced in a message to operators and its staff that 35 million fraud attempts were foiled its reputation device screening clients in 2010.
The company CEO Greg Pierson stressed the demanding character of fight against online fraud and abuse, which requires close cooperation between client and provider for optimum results.
He added: "We don't do it alone. We work in concert with thousands of virtual crime fighters around the globe. It takes tremendous focus, discipline and collaboration, something each of our customers, partners and employees prove every day.
"In 2010, we screened nearly 2 billion transactions and stopped over 35 million online fraud attempts."
The results of the company’s poll conducted among a number of fraud managers show that in the New Year they wish for: "...secure online and mobile transactions; early recognition of fraudsters; eliminating or reducing the burden of manual reviews and expediting good, legitimate transactions."
