Merger negotiations become less than certain?
Whether there will be a merger between Ladbrokes and 888 is at the moment rather uncertain, reported the British media this week, specifying that problems seem to lay in price tags.
Whether these negotiations will fail like the ones four years ago, when Ladbrokes attempted to buy 888 for GBP470 million, remains to be seen. This time, they confirmed the negotiations in December 2010, but the Ladbrokes’ offer made in January 2011 seems to have not been found appealing by 888, which reportedly assessed it as being far below expectations.
According to an unidentified source, it’s highly unlikely that Ladbrokes will increase its offer, while analysts give the deal a 50-50 percent chance of success.
Update: 888 Refuses Ladbrokes’ offer?
