Another attempt at legalization at federal level
Another legalization initiative has emerged in the US news this week, involving the same political personalities who were engaged on the legalization at the federal level before.
This new development may have influenced the New Jersey Government Chris Christie’s rejection of an intrastate legalization bill, as this new attempt to legalize gambling at the federal level involves both poker and casino online gaming.
The new initiative has reportedly already received support from Democrats Barney Frank and Harry Reid, who seem to have joined forces with Republican John Campbell.
I has been specified that the new bill will be presented soon in order to regulate the area which has suffered many blows over the years, but still prevails and enjoys the attention of millions of Americans, generating billions of dollars.
The respected publisher of Global Gaming Business, Roger Gros stated: "The planets have aligned rather quickly for this federal version to succeed in Congress. Since it is couched as law enforcement legislation, it's gained new support from conservative Republicans."
Gros also agreed with speculations that David Satz, a former adviser to Governor Christie and a senior lobbyist for land group Caesar's Entertainment, which favors legalization at a federal level, played a crucial role in the governor's decision to veto the New Jersey bill.
"David Satz holds a lot of sway with Christie when it comes to gaming on the Internet," Gros said. "Caesar's owns the World Series of Poker plus the Caesar's brands - a double shotgun when online gaming is legalised."
However, Satz remains silent, refusing to comment.
