IGT sells its subsidiary for GBP 33 million
It has been announced this week that gaming machine manufacturer and content provider Barcrest Group Limited will be acquired from International Game Technology (IGT) for approximately GBP 33 million in cash by lottery supplier Scientific Games.
The deal depends on UK competition approvals and certain third-party consents, so it should be completed during the third quarter of 2011, when Barcrest will be integrated into Scientific Games’ gaming divisions, The Global Draw and Games Media.
Thanks to the deal, SciGames will acquire Barcrest’s library of slot titles for internet and mobile channels, and see its server-based presence in betting shops, pubs, bingo halls and gaming centers extended throughout the UK. In addition, it will also gain access to new lottery customers in Italy and the Czech Republic.
