Eric Berg to occupy new position

An announcement came this week from land-based and online gaming company International Game Technology (IGT), about the appointment of a new President, Eric Berg, who will take over the position from July 18, 2011.

Prior to this, Berg held a CEO position at SunGard Availability Services, and he has an extensive experience of over 25 years in driving improved operating results in Fortune 500 companies in various industries. He has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois, with a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard.

It has been commented by IGT CEO Patti Hart: "As we continue to transform our organization, improve our internal processes and move to a more distributed, global business model, I felt it was essential to add additional expertise, leadership, and capabilities to IGT. Eric's strategic insight, operational intensity, and global leadership are perfectly suited to help IGT navigate the next chapter of our business."

Berg’s new duties will include driving IGT's enterprise-wide globalization efforts, leading domestic and international land-based revenue growth agendas, and managing all global operations inclusive of sales, products, services, marketing, and manufacturing.
