Hughes steps down
An announcement came this week from the UK gambling group Gala Coral that its former CFO Gary Hughes is stepping down from the position at the end of the month, when his replacement Paul Bowtell will take over the responsibilities.
The statement indicates that Hughes has brought the company into "good shape financially" and "will move on to other things”.
In regards to Bowtell, he has experience as a CFO from TUI Travel plc, before which he worked as the finance director for British Gas.
In related news, Managing Director of Gala Bingo, Symon Wykes issued a statement regarding a deal with the Noble Organisation to acquire the company’s bingo clubs in Middleborough and South Shields in the UK. According to him, “This acquisition follows a period when we have returned Gala Bingo to growth and reflects our confidence in the future of the business and, indeed, the bingo market as a whole.”
