Severe punishment for those caught taking part in illegal online gambling
An announcement came this week from Malaysia's chief minister Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, stating that he will oversee setting up a State Government task force that will include police, the Malaysian anti-corruption commission and the State Islamic Affairs Department, and which will be formed with an aim to fight illegal internet gambling.
It has been specified that those who offend the country's Negri Sembilan Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1992 for Muslims and the existing civil laws for non-Muslims will be prosecuted.
