Unimaginative casino robbers

There was little imagination in the recent robbery of a San Diego land casino, which looked much alike the one at the Bellagio earlier this year. This time, a gang of four masked and armed men entered and robbed the casino, and then ran away with a lot less than they may have expected.

Namely, the display case they took out of the casino using a sports utility vehicle was for a promotion to win $250,000, but it reportedly contained $100 bills on top of a stack of $1 bills to make it look like there was more money than there really was. Later on, the vehicle was found abandoned a mile away; along with some of the money.

According to Detective Sergeant Tom Poulin, "It seemed like a very amateur attempt." It has been reported that, after dragging it outside, the robbers shot the display case Plexiglas, opened it, and then grabbed an unknown amount of money. After that, they fled with a 30-foot-long heavy duty steel chain dragging behind their vehicle.
