Governor Sandoval announces his five appointees for the body
Here’s a man true to his word - Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, who fulfilled his promise to revitalize the state's Gaming Policy Committee, and this week he even announcing his five picks to serve on the 11-member body.
The five people he selected include:
* Boyd Gaming Corp. CEO Keith Smith;
*MGM Resorts CEO Jim Murren;
* Sallie Becker of Bomas Grill in Las Vegas;
* Reno attorney Mark Bruce;
* Paul Mathews Jr. of IncuBET in Las Vegas, a social-gaming outfit conceived by former Wynn Las Vegas president/COO and WagerWorks founder Andrew Pascal.
As for the other members of the committee, there are the two serving chairmen of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and the Nevada Gaming Commission; two legislative representatives - Sen. Valerie Wiener and Assemblyman William Horne; and tribal interests representatives, Reno-Sparks Indian Colony chairman Arlan Melendez.
The focus of the committee will be the impact of online gambling developments now and in the future, as the state of Nevada is already well advanced in preparations to regulate intrastate online poker.
