Back Dutch-Targeting Companies Respect Local Authorities’ Request in Hope for a License

The online gambling companies seeking to get a Dutch license once the government resolves its political wrangling regarding online gambling legalization seem to be decisive in compliance with the government’s request that they stop targeting Dutch residents.

It was reported in the Dutch media this week that over 20 of the 40 online gambling firms approached by the Dutch authorities have decided to comply with the request, most likely in hope that this will show them in good light when it comes to obtaining the Dutch license.

Among the 20+ companies are names such as Bwin.Party, Ladbrokes and Unibet, which decided to cooperate even though the Dutch government made little progress toward the legalization since 2010, when a commission recommended it to open up the market.
