An announcement came this week from French regulatory authority ARJEL that it has closed a renewable one-year agreement with non-profit organisation l’association S.O.S. Joueurs (SOS), which provides free support services to problem gamblers in shape of consultations with psychologists, social workers or lawyers who specialise in this area.
Based on the deal, the organizations will exchange statistical data and initiate joint projects against problem gambling.
In addition, ARJEL and SOS will meet formally bi-annually to analyze and discuss topics related to gambling addiction; it was specified that responsibility for monitoring and executing the agreement will be assigned to a representative from each organization who is yet to be appointed.
