What is accounted for as the biggest ever mobile payout from a bookmaker has been paid by William Hill to its Cop-The-Lot player, a 33-year-old Wakefield resident who hit GBP 866 000 on a mere GBP6 bet.
The player therefore claimed the throne of the top mobile gambling winner, but chose to remain anonymous. Commenting on the lucky strike, the player said: "I had to turn my phone off and then turn it back on again because I thought there had been a malfunction. I just could not believe it. I cannot explain how I felt as I just went numb. I have never been to another country and there are so many places I would love to go. I want to take my family around the world although first, I want to go to Tokyo and New Zealand.”
According to Joe Crilly, spokesman for William Hill, "This is our biggest ever mobile payout and is probably the biggest win in the history of mobile gaming. There is no doubt that we will see our very first mobile millionaire soon."
