This week, Jerry Markling, the Nevada State Gaming Control Board's enforcement division chief, announced his decision to retire at end of August 2013 after serving over 22 years on the Board.
Markling spent 43 years in Government service, and now he said he plans to take advantage of a "new opportunity in the industry".
Commenting on his departure, A.G. Burnett, Gaming Control Board Chairman said: “He’s [Markling] been an incredible asset to the board and a trusted colleague of mine. I have relied on his opinion and advice regarding complicated criminal and gaming regulatory matters, just as four previous chairmen did,” adding that Markling's successor will be appointed before his departure.
