The West publication revealed that online gambling comes in second after video games as a favorite form of entertainment for the Italians according to a study done by the Observatory of Online Gaming at Milan Polytechnic.
Punters spent more on online gambling than on the purchase of cinema tickets and even football stadiums.
The study concluded that the availability of online gambling from various means like smartphones and tablets has caused it to grow in popularity.
The study also revealed that Italian online gamblers are mainly men from central/south Italy between the ages of 25 and 44 years who prefer casino games.
