Over the last year the US Virgin Islands has considered offering online gambling licensing and regulatory services and the issue has come up for discussion yet again this week.
Attorney General Vincent Frazer says claims that the government would like to offer legal and regulated online gambling services as does New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware.
U.S. Virgin Islands governor John de Jongh Jr. said: “This marks a turning point in the diversification of our gaming industry from land-based casinos and racinos, to internet gaming and gambling. This Act will fulfil our mission of attracting very successful global internet gaming companies to the Virgin Islands, and encourage new investments to our struggling economy.”
